2023 DSA Convention

The 2023 DSA National Convention will take place in Chicago, Illinois, on August 4th-6th! Convention updates will be posted on this website regularly, and will also be included in our DSA bi-monthly member newsletters, The Dispatch and the NPC Newsletter.

The National Convention is held every other year, and is the highest decision-making body of the organization. Delegates from across the country will meet to set our course for the next two years and elect our new National Political Committee (NPC), which functions as DSA’s highest decision-making body between conventions.

Submit Plenary Recommendations and Self-Organized Breakout Requests!

DSA members! Do you have plenary recommendations for the 2023 Convention in August? Fill out this form by Tuesday 6/6 at 5pm CT to recommend plenary topics and speakers! Members can nominate themselves or someone else. Because we have limited time, we cannot guarantee that your recommendation will be utilized.

DSA Convention Delegates only: You can now request the Self-Organized Breakout you want to host at Convention! Self-Organized Breakouts can be anything you want – a workshop, skill share, resolution discussion, or group meeting. The deadline is Monday 6/26, and requests are first-come, first-served. If we can fulfill your request, we will confirm with you closer to the Convention.

2023 Convention Compendium is Now Available!

DSA members can now review the proposals for this year’s Convention in the initial 2023 Convention Compendium! All amendments to proposals are due June 28, 2023.
